Hand Embroidery : Lazy Daisy Stitch

The Lazy Daisy stitch is also known as the separate chain stitch. It is a simple and versatile embroidery stitch.

It looks like a tiny looped chain on the fabric, similar to the shape of a petal or leaf.

It is commonly used to create flower petals, leaves and other decorative elements in embroidery designs.

How to execute lazy daisy stitch :

  1. START : Bring the needle up through the fabric at the starting point of your stitch.

2. CREATING THE LOOP : Insert the needle back into the fabric very close to the starting point, creating a small loop of thread on the fabric’s surface.

3. SECURING THE LOOP : While holding the loop, bring the needle up through the fabric inside the loop to secure it.

4. SHAPING THE PETAL OR LEAF : Now, gently pull the thread to shape the loop into a petal or leaf.

5. ANCHORING THE STITCH : Secure the loop by inserting the needle back into the fabric close to the base of the loop.

6. REPEAT : Continue this process to create additional lazy daisy stitches as needed.

7. END : After completing your last stitch, secure the thread on the back of the fabric with a knot.

The lazy daisy stitch is a fun and versatile stitch that adds charm and dimension to embroidery designs.
